How to Have the Conversation: Mental Health in Sports

Sports often teach players you have to be strong enough or 100% all the time to be great. When you aren't 100%, you have to suck it up and move on. This mentality creates a culture where nobody has time to help anybody through tough times. This creates loneliness in greatness. As coaches, we should be mindful that everybody has a bad day and everybody has the ability to make a comeback. How we help our players come back, places value on how effective we are as coaches. Learning how to work with our players on how to become mentally happier players will help them take control of their mental health.
